My professional journey in the tech industry is a narrative of growth, innovation, and influence. Over the years, I have cultivated a diverse set of skills and experiences, shaping me into a leader in product management. Here’s a glimpse of my career, reflecting on the significant roles that have defined my path.

Reddit Inc. (2022-Present)

Currently, I am a Group Product Manager at Reddit, overseeing Discovery and Growth. My primary focus is building exceptional user experiences for Reddit’s Community Chat, our largest investment in chat. This role involves leveraging machine learning to ensure relevance and safety for users. I also lead the community growth team, helping users find and subscribe to communities they love through intuitive user experiences and advanced machine learning models. This initiative has consistently driven quarterly DAU (daily active user) growth. Additionally, I spearheaded the growth of Reddit Talk, our live audio product, achieving a 10X increase in daily active users within two quarters by launching a new audio recommendation system and unlocking a new supply channel.

eBay Inc. (2011-2021)

My tenure at eBay spanned nearly a decade, where I held several key positions that significantly impacted the company’s growth.

Group Product Manager, Verticals Growth (2020-2021)

In this role, I pitched eBay’s competitive response to Etsy and developed a personalization product proposal that received a shoutout on the earnings call within three months of launch. I led a team of PMs to create industry-leading experiences for watch, sneaker, and furniture shopping, supporting triple-digit growth rates in these categories. I also developed a three-year roadmap for video-based shopping and live streaming commerce, securing buy-in for the initial phase of the project.

Group Product Manager, Buyer Growth (2018-2020)

I led a team focused on enhancing search and navigation on eBay to drive user retention and frequency, significantly impacting key quarterly metrics. We launched new shopping tools, including a redesigned cart and shopping watchlist, which resulted in a 20% increase in cart engagement and $900 million in incremental revenue. My team’s efforts also led to a 2% increase in international sales, a 0.5% increase in searches, and an 11% growth in mobile web users.

Lead Product Manager, Strategic Projects – eBay Authenticate (2017-2018)

Leading eBay’s strategic foray into authentic luxury goods, I built and led a team under the guidance of eBay’s CEO. We launched the world’s largest selection of authenticated luxury watches, collaborating with industry experts, watch collectors, and various business development teams.

Lead Product Manager, Global Retail Platform (2011-2017)

In this capacity, I led product development for eBay’s $3 billion global retail program, driving engaging user experiences and a curation and syndication platform that accounted for one in four new eBay users. I successfully managed the global expansion of the new retail platform to over 180 countries, accommodating diverse local needs and regulatory environments. I also played a pivotal role in growing eBay Deals from $50 million to $1.2 billion in North America within three years.

Microsoft Corporation (2010)

As a Strategy Consultant at Microsoft, I recommended commercialization strategies for Office 365 in emerging markets through competitor analysis, operational needs assessment, and primary market research. My findings were shared group-wide and culminated in a memo to C-level executives.

American Express (2003-2009) @ Tata Consultancy Services

Product Consultant (2007-2009)

Leading large-scale global projects in the payments and CRM domain, I managed and coached a team of 22 developers and tech leads, significantly reducing product delivery time. I took full delivery responsibility for Amex’s CRM product, overseeing its development and implementation.

Technology Lead (2003-2007)

As a Technology Lead, I designed and built high-value payment products for small businesses, integrating fraud protection and seamless payment flows. I also spearheaded a multi-year revamp of American Express’s email platform, creating optimized and intuitive marketing emails and alerts, which led to a 10% reduction in customer service calls.

Education

My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, where I was elected to the student government. I then pursued an MBA with emphases in Strategy and Marketing from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business, where I was a Ross Student Blogger & Ambassador and VP-Marketing for FuturTech09.

Additional Interests

Beyond my professional life, I have a passion for cinema, having managed theaters at Cinequest and participated in the screening group at the Ann Arbor film festival. I co-founded and edited one of India’s highest-read blog aggregators. I also enjoy outdoor adventures, such as hiking volcanoes in Guatemala. My technical toolkit includes SQL and Python, and I have consistently been recognized for my contributions, winning awards such as the eBay Critical Talent Award (top 1% of the company) and Hackweek for innovative business models and UX.

Conclusion

My career has been a blend of building and scaling products, leveraging machine learning and AI, and driving growth through innovative strategies. Each role has equipped me with unique insights and skills, enabling me to create impactful user experiences and lead teams to success. As I continue my journey, I remain committed to pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve and making meaningful contributions to the industry.
